Seining
Catch of the Day" seining is one of CURB's signature outdoor education programs. Starting each spring and continuing through the fall, CURB educators take students into the Hudson River dragging a 30 foot seine net to catch various species of fish, crabs, and shrimp. As a part of this program, students record data from our catch before we release the animals back into the Hudson River. At the end of each year our data, along with data from other sites along the Hudson River, is sent to the DEC for analysis. This information gives scientists a snapshot of the different species that are being sampled in the Hudson River. Please check out our live seining data at the link below:
